"Sometimes all it took was to let someone be heard and to know their scars didn't need to be covered.”
"And if that meant letting go of his sense of control and trusting God with the future, he would. It wasn't giving up, but rather giving in to the embrace of the Good Shepherd. He didn't need to keep running anymore, because he'd already been found."
"It's not that I don't notice it. There is a lot of pain and suffering in this world. I can either let it control me, or I can choose to focus on the good and trust that God has a plan. It might not be what I think is best–and oftentimes it's the complete opposite–but He is always in control."
"Your shoes are rooted to the ground, Grace. And no matter how much you say you want to fly, you'll never do so much as walk if you don't pick up your feet and decide for yourself."
Things I adored:
✝️ The faith aspects! 🙌
💌 The gentle love story
🐑 The sheep (both real and as a woven symbol)
🤍 The white truck as a white knight!
🐝The honeybees
👩❤️👨 The meet cute
A gentle love story with beautifully woven elements of faith. Schwarz shows us that even if we are "lost sheep" God's love will always find us. And I couldn't have enjoyed the faith aspects of this novel more.
I am sometimes hesitant when starting a novel with faith aspects from an author who I haven't read before because it's usually very hit or miss for me. But I received such peace with reading this one! I connected with the faith storyline from the very first page, even highlighting the chosen Bible verse before the beginning of the book. The sheep motif throughout the novel was brilliantly crafted from the opening quote to the very end of the book. And I applaud the author for bringing such wonderful insight and beauty through the characters' faith journeys. It brought me such comfort as a reader and I am truly thankful for the beautiful faith quotes I have taken away from this novel!
